The McKinsey Institute for Black Economic Mobility is a research institute and think tank dedicated to advancing inclusive growth in the United States—and globally.
Our Mission
The Institute was launched in December 2020 as a part of McKinsey’s 10 actions toward racial justice and equity. We exist to inspire, empower, and sustain action that leads to the economic development of Black communities across the globe.
Our mission is to help private-, public-, and social-sector leaders take coordinated action to accelerate Black economic development by providing in-depth research, convening with stakeholders, and translating research into practical assets and capabilities to create real-world impact.

Our internal advisers comprise global leaders from McKinsey who represent a diverse range of geographies and practices. Our external advisory board, which is composed of senior leaders from across the private, public, and social sectors, bring an objective perspective to our work.
