Zero emission powertrains are rapidly advancing and transforming the mobility sector. The decarbonization of passenger cars and commercial vehicles is at the core of the largest transformation in automotive history. However, directly transitioning to a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) is not always the optimal solution for every client; sometimes bridge technologies are required.
We help our clients make informed decisions on how to navigate the zero-emission transition successfully. Additionally, we help them find solutions within ecosystems of partners and small-scale providers. Our cross-industry insights include learnings from vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, fleet owners, utilities, electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) and hydrogen refueling station (HRS) operators, and experiences from our own fleet.
Passenger cars
How to successfully achieve zero emissions in passenger cars is a central topic in our conversation with clients across different industries. With one of our clients, we conducted the optimization (i.e., the powertrain and battery concept) of a next-generation EV with start of production in 2023.
Commercial vehicles
We help our clients find and implement the best strategy for zero-emission commercial vehicles. In this context, we developed the market launch strategy for a new electric truck brand.
Battery
Improving batteries is a key lever for decarbonization with BEVs. We help our clients improve their products and offerings. For example, we optimized capital expenditures for a new gigafactory.
Hydrogen
Our H2 Mobility Ecosystem team serves the entire value chain for hydrogen in mobility. We support fuel cell suppliers, truck and passenger car OEMs, as well as fleets, infrastructure, and service providers. Our work focuses on reducing costs and scaling the industry, developing new business models, entering new markets, and supporting financing processes. For instance, we supported an Oil & Gas player to develop their HRS network scale-up plan and select the optimal locations for their stations based on vehicle geolocation data.
Supply chain
We assist our clients in building a resilient and cost-efficient supply chain to drive zero-emission mobility. For instance, we developed an acceleration strategy for china for a global Tier-one powertrain supplier.
Charging infrastructure
Optimizing charging infrastructure is key to entering the battery electric vehicles (BEV) market, which is why we help our clients further develop their offerings. In one engagement, we outlined and implemented the strategy for a nationwide high-power charging infrastructure network.
