Taro is the leader of Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice in Japan. He is also one of the core leaders of Leap by McKinsey, a specialized team focusing on building and supporting the growth of new businesses and ventures.
He works extensively with technology services providers, media agencies, telecommunications companies as well as private equity and venture capital firms that are focused on investments to technology companies undergoing strategy and operational transformations.
Taro spent some time outside of McKinsey working for one of the world’s largest technology-investment firms to lead the launch of the fund’s portfolio group to accelerate the value creation of its unicorn investments. He also holds deep insights into the “Chief of Staff” role, which leads the strategic and operational work of the offices of the CEO and other C-suite executives.
