Marc leads our global Semiconductors Practice, serving clients on strategy, innovation, and transformation and advising clients on technology-related industries, such as semiconductors, electronics, energy, chemicals, and professional services. He is also a leader in our global Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice and previously coled the practice’s digital and analytics activities, as well as strategy-transformation services in Europe. Prior to this work, Marc led McKinsey’s Strategy Analytics Center, shaping digital and analytics tools and services with a global team of about 100 professionals. He has also led the firm’s work in innovation and growth.
Marc has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining McKinsey in 1998, Marc worked in the research division of Philips, where he wrote 40 articles that appeared in leading scientific journals.
Marc is currently based in the Netherlands, where he hosts the Chief Strategy Officer Roundtable and cofacilitates the Board Academy. Marc dedicates pro bono time and effort to boosting the scientific and innovation ecosystem in the Netherlands. He is member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW), the Advisory Board of the Big Chemistry Consortium, and De Nationale DenkTank. Previously he was based in Silicon Valley, where he served technology leaders.
